Scott Fitzgerald hails from Chicago originally. Reared as a rock bassist, Scott was exposed to most genres of music due to his proximity to Chicago. Although expressing interest in most styles of music, Scott gravitated to the more urbane sounds of funk, latin, R&B, blues, and jazz.
Exposure to earlier fusion groups of the 70's such as Weather Report and Return to Forever was an encouragement to pursue music that integrated multiple styles with jazz as a common denominator. Fusion Juice, it turns out, has been a perfect vehicle for this pursuit.
Scott attended Roosevelt University in Chicago to study jazz performance prior to stepping out as a independent musician seeking work and experience with club, wedding and big bands, theater groups as a pit musician and cruise ship gigs. Name acts include Connie Stevens and Otis Clay. Scott has played in a wide array of venues in Chicago, Miami, and throughout the
Caribbean.
